Towards Safer Marine Workplaces For All
At Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) 2026, United Resources returned with a clear purpose: not just to showcase solutions, but to engage with the workers and key figures that make up the marine industry. As the maritime landscape continues to evolve, we see exhibitions like APM as opportunities to exchange ideas, understand operational challenges, and explore new ways to improve safety and efficiency across marine environments.
Educating Through Practical Innovation
At our booth, UR highlighted our UR Innovations framework, demonstrating how real-world challenges can be solved through practical thinking. Visitors explored two of our innovation pillars:
- DOTS (Digitalised Operational Tools), featuring smart safety solutions such as communication-enabled earmuffs and AI-powered workplace monitoring tools that enhance situational awareness and decision-making.
- COGS (Cooperative Operational Gadgets), including robotics designed to support workers in hazardous environments, such as robotic life buoys that improve emergency response readiness.
These conversations reinforced a key belief: innovation is more than buying new equipment. It is a state of mind that continually strives for excellence. While our visitors expressed interest in these products, they were thorough in their questions about the training required to implement these solutions, and we were more than happy to advise them.
Marine Safety and Clean Air Solutions
A key area of interest at APM 2026 was confined space safety, particularly in marine environments where ventilation and atmospheric risks remain critical challenges. UR showcased engineered clean air supply solutions designed for tank entry, enclosed space maintenance, and emergency response scenarios.
Through hands-on discussions, we explored how proper air delivery systems, monitoring equipment, and rescue readiness can significantly reduce operational risk. Many visitors shared their own challenges, allowing us to better understand real-world constraints and tailor our solutions accordingly.
Learning From the Industry
While we shared our expertise, APM 2026 was equally about learning. Conversations with shipowners, operators, and technical teams provided valuable insights into emerging challenges, from sustainability requirements to evolving safety regulations and operational constraints onboard vessels.
These exchanges help shape our future developments, ensuring that our safety solutions and innovations remain grounded in operational realities.
Moving Forward Together
Our presence at APM 2026 reaffirmed our commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement. By educating, listening, and innovating together, we move closer to our shared goal: safer, smarter, and more sustainable marine workplaces.
Thank you to everyone who visited us in Singapore. We look forward to continuing the conversation and building the next generation of workplace solutions together. See you at APM 2028!
