From 9th to 11th September 2024, United Resources (UR) was proud to participate at the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) exhibition, a show that focuses on worker safety. Going beyond obvious products such as impact-resistant PPE, we decided to showcase cutting-edge solutions aimed at heat stress prevention in the workplace.
At the centre of UR’s exhibition was the critical issue of heat stress, a risk made worse by rising global temperatures. Heat stress is an underrated side effect of global warming, one that we find essential for companies start recognising and taking proactive steps to mitigate.
At UR, we believe in preparing for this growing threat by thinking outside the box. That’s why we focused on personal protective equipment (PPE) designed specifically to prevent heat stress. These included innovative cooling vests and wearable PPE that help regulate workers’ body temperatures, keeping them safe in high-heat environments. These advanced solutions provide relief for workers in industries like construction, oil and gas, and manufacturing, where excessive heat is a constant threat.
UR also introduced visitors to its state-of-the-art AI technologies designed to safeguard workers more intelligently. Using AI, smart cameras issue warnings when employees are not wearing the required PPE or are engaging in unsafe activities. These AI systems allow supervisors to monitor workers remotely and in real-time, automatically detecting any lapses in compliance. By doing so, companies can swiftly address safety concerns before they escalate into serious issues.
UR shared the exhibition space with several medical companies, creating an opportunity for us to meet with experts from a different industry. We gained valuable insights into the medical implications of heat stress and other workplace hazards through these interactions.
Visitors from a variety of countries attended UR’s OSHA exhibition booth, united by their curiosity or concern about heat stress and workplace safety. Attendees were eager to learn about the latest developments in PPE, AI, and safety technologies, with many expressing gratitude for the educational insights provided by our team.
It was an eventful exhibition for us, and we are proud to have succeeded in our mission to raise awareness about the dangers of heat stress.
